Cannabis investors are pondering the big question. Are the small and micro-cap cannabis companies set for explosive growth or stagnation under the new administration coming into power in a few weeks.
Companies such as United Cannabis Corp (CNAB), CannLabs, Inc. (CANL) CannaGrow Holdings, Inc. (CGRW) and Cannabis Sativa, Inc. (CBDS) are all currently traded on the OTC Markets. They all have a market cap in the $50-$120 million range.
The new administration seems to be ambivalent, at this point, regarding the legality of cannabis. The new Attorney General Jeff Sessions is not a fan of cannabis and the President-Elect seems to want to leave the issue to the states.
Leaving the issue to the states is good news for the cannabis industry as MOST states have now approved cannabis initiatives. The industry still needs the plant to be reclassified by the federal government, from a schedule I drug to a schedule that would allow companies to further develop cannabis for treatment of ailments.
